Guide for Authors

FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

Put the manuscript in a file with a header (author, author & author or author et al.) and a footer on the left (Biannual fore. sci. toxi. J) and a footer on the right showing the volume and issue number e.g Vol 1 (2), Jan 2020.

The manuscript (after final acceptance) should include the figures and tables.

Required fonts:

Title Tahoma - 14 - uppercase (capital letters) - center text.

Authors (1st line) and their institutional affiliation are required (2nd line) - times new roman - 12 - center text.

Subtitles (introduction, subjects, and methods, results, etc.) à times new roman - 12 - upper case (capital letters).

The core of the manuscript in a 2 columns structure - times new roman - simple (not bold) - 12 - sentence case – line space 1

ARTICLE STRUCTURE

Title:

  • Should give the key result of the study.
  • Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.

Authors' names and affiliations:

  • Clearly, indicate given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check for accurate spelling (should be consistent with the online-submitted ordering).
  • Present the authors' affiliation addresses below the names.
  • Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address.

Corresponding author:

  • To be written after the authors' names and affiliations and before the abstract.
  • Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication.
  • Ensure that the e-mail address and phone number are given and that contact details are kept up to date.

Abstract:

  • Should be concise and informative.
  • Should state briefly the purpose of the research, methodology, principal results and major conclusions under the following subheadings: objectives, methodology, results, and conclusion without line breaks.
  • Must be able to stand alone since it is often presented separately from the article.
  • Avoid references, uncommon abbreviations.
  • Not more than 400 words - one column - center text - justified.
  • The TEXT should be arranged under the following headings

Keywords:

  • Immediately after the abstract.
  • A maximum of 6 keywords.
  • Avoid general and plural terms and multiple concepts (example 'and' 'of').
  • Only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be used.
  • They will be used for indexing purposes.

Introduction:

  • State the work objectives.
  • Provide adequate background, avoiding detailed literature, survey or a summary of the results.

Material and methods:

  • Full experimental or sampling design.
  • Clear explanation of how the study was carried out.
  • The number of participants.
  • Protocol for data collection.
  • Equipment.
  • Methods used.
  • Data analysis.

Results:

  • Clear and concise
  • In the text, the word “figure” is abbreviated to “fig.”, while “table” is not.
  • Both words are spelled out completely in descriptive legends.
  • Tables and figures must be sufficiently clear, well-labeled, fully described by their legends.
  • Table legends àgo above the body of the table.
  • Any table must be within the same page with its legend, not passing between two pages.
  • Figure legends à go below the figure.
  • Any figure must be within the same page with its legend, not passing between two pages.

Discussion:

  • Should explore the significance of the results, not repeat them.
  • A combined "Results and Discussion" section is often appropriate.
  • Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

Conclusion(s):

  • Presented in a short section, which can stand alone.

Recommendation(s):

  • Presented in the form of points, in a separate section.

Acknowledgment (if any):

  • Provide it as a separate file and remove from the manuscript.
  • List individuals who provided help during the research (language help, writing assistance or proofreading the article, etc.).

Reference model:

  • Harvard system should be used.
  • Arrange in alphabetical order.
  • Standard journal article:

- Name of author (Bold) (alphabetical order) – the year of publication between brackets (Bold) – title – the name of the journal – volume – pages.

- Al-Motarreb, A.; Baker, K. and Broadley, K. (2002): pharmacological and medical aspects and its social use in Yemen. Phytotherapy Research, 16:403-413.]

- For 7 or more authors, list only the first 6 and add (et al.) for the rest.

Chapter in a book:

-  Name of the author/editor (bold) (alphabetical order) - the year of publication between brackets (Bold)– the title of the book – the number of the edition – Place of publication: Publisher – pages.

-  Rasheed, Z and Haqqi, T (2001): Cytokine networks “ towards new therapeutic targets for rheumatoid arthritis. 4th edition, London; 31-47.
